Women In Media Development (WIMDeV) is a non-for-profit, nongovernmental feminist media organization committed to empowering women and girls in media. Our aim is to achieve gender equality and eradicate all forms of discrimination against women, girls, and key populations.
Founded in November 2021 by a group of dedicated media women activists and officially registered with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in April 2022, WIMDeV has been unwavering in its mission to engage the media community, particularly women and children. We advocate tirelessly to elevate women’s voices in media, even under challenging conditions. WIMDeV is dedicated to driving change based on feminist principles, striving to create a just society free from gender discrimination. Our efforts have led to increased social inclusion of women, legislative reforms promoting women’s rights, and greater recognition of the need for women’s representation in media and politics. We envision a media landscape that inclusively represents everyone’s voices, especially those of women and key populations.
